Brera 2.4 JTD SV

New Member, New (Old!) Brera

Hi All,

I am new to the forum and new to the world of Alfa's.

I must be mad but I just bought a 2006 Brera 2.4 JTD SV - seems to be in decent condition but obviously still 5 years old and has 65k on the clock (well, I was on a budget). Picking up on Friday after the dealer has spruced it up and changed the cambelt.

I know this is probably a very foolish buy (though any reassurance appreciated!) but I couldn't help myself. I know all the limitations (having spent some time reading posts on here - for which thanks) but the heart ruled the head.

Anyway, I am sure it will all be fine and not a total money pit......but if it is, I can hopefully rely on you guys for advice.

Good to meet you all and I look forward to chatting.

I don't understand why you think one of the best built Alfas of all time with a superb record for reliability is a foolish purchase?!

The Brera lounge is full of very happy owners of 2006 cars with very few problems.

The Brera is a tank and such is the build quality will still drive like new as a 10 year old car.

Hi paulmacs,

You're right - didn't mean to be overly negative! Just older than the cars I normally buy so feeling nervous. No doubt I will be reassured when I get my first proper blast on Friday.
