Hello from a new Alfa owner!

Hey everyone!

I posted a 'hello' up here a month or two ago, saying I was looking for an Alfa GT.
Well, things change and due to being skint I decided to buy a cheap 'banger' instead. After looking at quite a few cars in the £1000-£1500 category and finding them to be mainly pretty awful, I was lucky I think in spotting a little Alfa 147 about a mile up the road for sale privately.

So I bought her! She is very pale blue with a dark cloth interior (yes, believe it or not they do make them with a cloth interior!) and is a 147 2.0TS Selespeed. Yes, I know, Selespeed too!
Never used one before and have to say its quite odd at first! But the car drives very well indeed, has a full Alfa SH, she has done 78k miles, everything works on it, it has MOT until Feb 2012 and cost £1200!

There are a couple of small things (of course). The passenger door handle is broken at the front hinge and it could really do with an aircon re-gas. That's about it though! Oh, it only has one key as well and has a small dent (like 2x50p pieces) in the bonnet and the sun visors are a bit floppy (I'm betting that is very common).

And get this - the cloth seats are heated in the front! Honestly, I kid you not! (Ok, Ok, I bet you all know that already... but I though it was most odd!)

So, any top tips, advice etc greatly appreciated! It drives wonderfully! Really really well, not squeaks, rattles on knocks. The selespeed is not like any auto box I have ever used before, but I am already getting to appreciate the way that when you drive gently it shifts early and when you put your foot down it changes late. Seems a lot more pronounced than the autos I have owned in that respect.

She needs a jolly good wash too. Once she is clean I will take some piccies and do a proper write up!
