retrofit cruise control 147
I have a 147 JTDM 8 valve,If anyone's interested I have fitted cruise control, takes about 1 hour if you want a professional finish to the cowling. How to do it: before you remove anything, check brake and clutch pedals have small white switches where they pivot. Remove lower steering column shroud, if there is a spare white block connector below the indicator stalk, ( might be tucked up in wiring) the car is wired for cruise from the factory. All you need now is acruise control stalk, available from any used part seach engines. I purchased mine for £30.00 delivered, new about £60 + vat. Once installed check green cruise symbol illuminates in the speedometer. I could only manage to secure the stalk with the one screw that can be seen behind the stering wheel, it's quite secure and feels solid. Bingo, you have cruise control!
