Newbie from Devon

Hi All,

I'm Halibuts (Pete Young) brother-in-law. Can you believe it, he's talked myself and his sister (Mandy) into buying a 147 1.9 JTD 140 (RE04HYS) in Alfa Red! Anyway, we pick it up on Sunday 20th March. We are somewhat excited and scared at the same time. We don't have oodles of cash to maintain it but it will be a cared for addition to our family. Hey, so we have to sell the kids.

I'll try and get a bit busier on the forums and hook up with the South West AR gang.

See you at BIAMF as we have been talked into attending that as well.

It aint my 147 it's the wife's.

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. I'll and try and find more time to get on here.

I had the pleasure of driving the 147 through Plymouth yesterday. I always try to get through the traffic lights as quickly as possible. Yesterday, it just didn't matter at all. It's weird to drive a car with decent handling again (we once owned a 205 GTi). My VW Passat is super soft and squidgy without any feedback.

Anyway, I've got to remember the 147 belongs to my wife and I am only allowed to borrow it

When the VW eventually gives up then I will be purchasing my own Alfa. Thing is, it's a 53 plate with 130k miles and there is every chance it will do another 130k. I will have to be very patient.
