Wave NEW to Forums & Alfa Owners Club

I am a total Car Nut / enthusiast but probably a bit quiet about it.

I once heard a top BBC motoring programme host mention that if you haven't owned / driven an Alfa then you probably haven't lived! This set me thinking; in my work I occasionally have a few weeks / months when not working so in January this year I set about buying a car to "do Up" and keep me focussed as a distraction from getting down about not having any work. . .

Then I did the unthinkable and bought my first ever body repair (I usually buy engine-troubled cars and repair them - I love engines!!!). I usually always stay in the german area of cars so my last two projects were both VW (Golf Mk 4 and Corrado VR6). As both are now completed, and up for sale, I did the next most unthinkable thing and bid on my first ever Alfa - a 147 (on eBay - Can I say that on here?).

I will talk more elsewhere about this project. In my work I travel a great deal so having a fun car to drive is always a must. My current car collection consists of:

Volvo V50 D5 - Large rocket (as opposed to pocket rocket!) The everyday reliable one;
Citroen DS21 Automatic (Not semi-auto) - still garaged for winter but real good fun - I grew up with these cars in France (where I was born);
JBA Falcon Kit Car - I built myself 25 years ago and can't bear to part with yet!!
Volvo 480ES auto - the pocket rocket that runs....
VW Corrado VR6 - engine blown project now fully rebuilt - an amazing engine and great fun to drive;
VW Golf 1.6 SE Auto - minor front end damage project now completed and painted so up for sale (I just wanted one of these and didnt want to spend much!)
Alfa 147 2.0 TS Selespeed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Latest Project Car and falling in love with Alfas. . .

A little bit about me - I am born French - lived in the UK since age 10 but have no french accent so you can't tell! I have some Italian blood in me from somewhere - can't recall where! I live with my partner in Brentwood Essex. Divorced previously I have three children and two gran-kids!

And each year I get older I never tire of engines and cars!!! I am addicted to performance and the sound of great engines. Here starts the italian alfa love affair!!!
