Finally got a GTV!

Hi peoples! After years of lusting after a V6 GTV I finally became an owner Sunday morning!
I think I got a great deal: A 2001 'Y', Black with black leather and full Aero pack, 56,500 miles, literally just had the cam belt and aux. belt changed along with 2000 of work at Buzz Alfa!! New Pirelli's, discs and pads all round, new exhaust and 11 months MOT all for....2900!
Just a couple of problems. One is, occasionally after accelerating hard, the throttle becomes very sensitive and the revs rise when stationary, until I pull the pedal back with my toes!! Does this sound like the potentiometer? It only had a new one fitted in 2007!
The other looks like a stuck thermostat. Takes ages to warm up and on the motorway home it stayed at around the 50 mark, but heaters work fine and it warmed up to 90 in town!
The car itself has very low headroom, the boot is a joke, the torque steer is silly and the windscreen is too small.......However when I plant my right foot, all is forgiven!! Even my E39 M5 never sounded like that!!
I'll get some pics up next weekend once it's had a full detail, and look forward to seeing some of you at any local meets in the South East!

Sounds good.

I'm sure many would like to know how the performance, pleasure and MPG compared to the M5 once your new Alfa has those issues fixed.

Hi and welcome to AO

The car shouldnt Torque Steer - it could mean that your shocks are gone.
Or your using FULL POWER round a corner too much !
But sounds like worn shocks to me.
