Radiator Fans - Engine Overheating
Hi... I'm just a new owner of a 156 2.5 v4 24v 2001, I made a test drive of the car prior buying it and seems in very clean and good condition, but... after a few days I took it for a longer drive and had the problem of overheating, the measuare was already pass 90 and even the red light of the measuare was on, I drove the car for aprox 40 kms on average 4k-6k revs.
Then I took the car very slow under 3k revs and temperature pull back to 90.
If I drive the car without getting to much revs then no problem, even in heavy traffic.
I think one of the two fans are not working, due to I have seen only one of the fans actually working (the left side fan).
Could somebody explain how the fans system works, should both fans works at the same time always..? or depends at engine temperature that the second fan starts working..?
Any comment will be greatly appreciatted
