159 Sportwagon Roof Rails
Hi there to all Alfa Lovers!
As a motor dealer proprietor of almost thirty years i get my fair share of ribbing from those in the trade and otherwise when i mention that i love Alfa's, well known in the trade for problems (but what car is'nt nowadays) it has still never put me off buying AND selling them.
Having just sold my 100% reliable Lexus IS 200 SE AUTO and after getting a press invite to the 100th Anniversary Alfa Stand at Goodwood this year, i thought it about time i reaquainted myself with this most beautiful of marques, however, with all my years of experience and knowledge nothing prepares you for just how annoying this brand can be sometimes, ( and yes, i still love it! )
In my haste to replace the Lexus and finding myself using anything from a Ford Focus TD-Ci to a Jaguar X-Type i revisited my love of an early 156 Sportwagon i had owned, torn between a two to three year old Brera or 159 Sportwagon Lusso ( let the company owner from new take the massive depreciation hit! ) i chose the latter as being more practical for my needs, a stunning 1 owner 2007 159 Sportwagon Lusso 1.9 JTD finished in solid Jet Black with unmarked Tan Leather, it had everything i wanted bar one thing, "bars" being the optimal word, it did'nt have them and little did i know you could'nt retro fit them, i did'nt even want to use them that much either, i was just being vain! they look so much better with them especially with all that aluminium againt the black roof!
Anyway, point is i have been told conflicting info about retro fitting rails, can the roof be drilled and a new set from alfa Parts dept fitted? (remember i have a workshop and mechanics at my disposal ) or could a set be sourced from a damaged / breaker etc: along with all the origianl fitments? have never believed in the word "Cant" but then again.........it's an Alfa !!!!!! Thanks everyone...........
