Hmmm alfa gt jtd engine

Hi all, newbie poster here
I've just bought a 2005 GT JTD with a broken engine, water pump siezed and stripped belt and totalled engine (according to garage who dismantled it, i've yet to have a look). My question if anyone can answer is this: Is the basic engine / block / head etc on the GT identical to that on other JTD motors, ie 156, 147, etc. The idea might be to buy a damaged other vehicle and swap engine. I have lots of experience with engine swaps, most recently into my Spider, but don't know much about JTD yet. Any interesting info would be most welcome thanks. not sure whether it's jtdm or std one, how do i tell ?

new alfa owner

thanks for replies, as you can tell, new to posting, i'll post query in techy area. Picking up my new broken GT tomorrow, so lots of fun to be had. Spider woes too, engine water frozen, boohoo, not enough antifreeze. Going to leave it till it thaws out to start.
My life as a double alfa owner starts tomorrow. Am I mad ?
