Pleased to meet 'cha
I bought my '74 Alfa in 1981 for $1200. The guy wanted to replace it with a Sunbeam (for his wife). I smiled, wrote the check and ran off before he got suspicious about the grin.
I'd never even driven a sports car before, but I learned two things right away. You don't ride in an Alfa you DRIVE it. And second, I have never, ever, in my life, heard any sound as beautiful as my Alfa winding through the gears... Alfie music.
But life and long stories intrude, and my "bella machina" has sat idle in the garage for over 20 years! Now, I'm about to resurrect and restore her, but here's the catch - I've little mechanical experience and even less $$!
My plan is to learn as I go with the help of the internet and a motorhead neighbor. My hope is that freinds I meet here will help share in the adventure.
