Hi All,
Flew over to Melbourne. Victoria and picked up a 6/2000 build 2001 compliance 156 Sportwagon Selespeed.

Really wanted a hatchback type 156 and this was the closest andmost practical offering.

It's a ripper car to drive, the Selespeed I do compare to the old D series Citroen BVH clutch.

Look forward to learning more about the car and have already pm'ed with Chris about keys.
Took the plunge today and ordered one from the AD here in Hobart.

I've lurked here for a while whilst deciding which model to buy.
FYI, you blokes in the UK are very fortunate to buy the older cars so cheaply, they still have value here in the antipodes.

Thanks so much fellas for taking the time to welcome me.

Had to hurry along to town this morning for a doctors appointment, wet roads, steep hills with winding corners, small amount of smow last night....
The Sportwagon handled things beautifully.

Then for me at least, a revelation. I was in 5th gear at 80ks, pulled up at a set of lights and the transmission had selected 1st gear for me. Way cool, that's one up on the old D Cit !
I let the car do its thing on the way home, brilliant. Sort of like city mode, except shifting up the gears at my own pace.
Of course, all you blokes here knew that, as yet I haven't fully read the manual and had been manually changing down, which is fun too.

I love the car.
Thanks again for the welcome, I look forward to contributing in a useful sense as soon as I'm up to speed. Sillyspeed...yep, that's the one for me ;-)
