Hard ride with Spider that has upgraded 18'" wheels
Hi - can anyone give me some advice, please?
I recently purchased a 1999 Alfa Spider; excellent SH and very nice car but the suspension seems exceedingly hard now I'm driving it on my local Watford roads that are not great; smooth on motorways/A roads; the car has 18" Altech Italia wheels and ultra low profile tyres... they look lovely but I'm wondering if the ride would be smoother if I were to change them for a set of original Spider wheels/tyres?
Or could it be the suspension? The wishbones/bushes were all done by a Ferrari specialist garage in late 2006 and the car has only done 23000 miles since; the shocks and springs haven't been changed - is it possible that they could need looking at?
Any help would be gratefully received. Many thanks.
