Hello from a newly smitten Brera owner
I have just picked up my newly bought 56 plate Brera and I have this smile fixed permanently on my face!
My very first car was a Triumph Spitfire 1500 and it's the only car up till now that I have been emotionally attached to. I had it for many years until the demands of long mileage business meant it was time to get a "sensible" car.
My next cars were all Saabs. Nice marque, enjoyable to drive, good for long journeys and really comfortable. But not exactly designed to make the blood race. With a change to live and work back in Devon, the challenging and twisty country roads that I love to drive began haunting me with a thought - it's time for an Alfa.
I've been lurking on these forums for a while now, allowing the dream to be nurtured by your enthusiasm. I have read so much useful advice on what to look out for, what might be a problem, but most of all what a passion Alfas engender in their owners. A passion I wanted for myself - I wanted to fall in love with a car again.
So, I took the plunge a short while ago and test drove a Brera. Big mistake. Totally smitten from first look. Didn't really stand a chance - and with a good deal on my old car, the Brera was mine.
Thank you to all members and particularly those in the Brera section for the enthusiasm and knowledge you share with we newbies. I hope one day to be able to contribute a little myself - if there is any time left over from racing over Dartmoor!
