Brera bhp upgradeI

After the many GTI's and sports cars I've owned in my earlier years, then suitable family cars including Land Rovers, Jaguar estates etc. but since the Dad's taxis reign is over and the kids have their own wheels, I decided to go back to some thing more sportier.
I scanned motoring web sites as decided I wanted a Brera. I discovered my new car in the midlands, organised a test drive (timed it with a business trip, as you do) and instantly fell in love with the beautiful gleaming white machine with red interior. Just had to have it! It is sooo stylish, even my 84 year old Mum likes being picked up in it from Sainburys!

In my garage last year was a 2 litre kit car, my weekend 'adrenalin fix' and by God did that thing shift, with having all that power I obviously wanted to gain more power from the Brera, you can't match the performance with a 'pocket rocket' but when discussing my needs to my Alfa garage, they right away suggested an engine upgrade.

I Immediately chipped the 2.4 diesel to acheive a conservative 38+ mpg!
On it's first service, my garage carried the bhp upgrade working alongside the chip to bring the engine upto 252 bhp. Although the mpg is roughly about the same, the performance is quite astounding.

From a stand still it's quick but no sports car, but once moving on the road the engine just wants to go, no lag, just pure torque. The difference is fantastic, no changing down, just a heavier right foot!

If you've not already done this and not sure whether to (as I was), talk to you dealership, they will carry this out professionaly for you for around 200.00 - I got a written guarentee too that does not conflict to warrenty etc, which was a big peace of mind

O, and don't forget to inform your insurance company.

Happy Days.
