Alfa 159 - Newbie so be nice!

Hi and how are you all?

I am new here, so please be nice :-)

I am thinking of buying an Alfa (at last) Have looked at several different models, but fell in love with the 159 diesel estate last weekend.... have a test ride planned on saturday

it is a 2007 model, 150 bhp - looks amazing......

Couple of questions (and I know you have heard them all before).....

My dad told me to stear well clear of Alfa due to reliability.... Is this still a problem, especially with the model I am thinking of buying?

What is the economy (boring) like on the model I have mentioned?

Anything I really need to pay special attention too??

Would appreciate any help you might have and please try to be objective :-)

Welcome to the site

Modern Alfas are much more reliable. I have a 2009 Mito and haven't had any problems whatsoever.

There is a section on the site for the 159, you'll probably get more advice and info there:

Good luck!

Good morning and WELCOME rjt. I think that you will find that modern alfa's are a different animal form yesteryear, yes they have their little problems but then they ALL do; alfa's are different and once bitten ALWAYS smitten I think -Enjoy

They're great cars but don't expect good economy from them. It ain't going to happen. Welcome to AO.
