Hi there, Alfa Fans!
This is a sort of long intro, but I've got a story to tell, so... here it goes:
I'm not very much into cars, really. Just lik'em to work, to be practical, you know. For instance, lots of space for a big family, never break down, cheap to own and to drive, etc. So I've been the proud owner of a couple of Volvos, a Ford Mondeo stationwagon and recently, a Toyota Corolla Verso. I'm not hearing lots of cheering now, am I...? But they all did the job without very much hazzle, so to speak. But, it's like getting a frozen pizza at the supermarket, it will fill you up, but you know the right stuff is elsewhere (in Italy, in fact...!). And so, here I am, the sudden owner of TWO Alfas, and that happened in just two days! Talk about getting hooked! It all began when we were to complement the family car (the Toyota) with a smaller no. 2 car. Had a VW Golf a year ago, so looked in that direction. However, my son, who got the license fairly recently, scanned the net for cars of similar size and showed me another one, an Alfa 147 1.6 TS 2002 . Hmm...., looked good. So we went to the dealer, but he didn't have the car in at the moment since it was his private car. While talking to him, we spotted a beauty in the exhibition hall. Suddenly, we realized that perhaps the Toyota was ready to be exchanged. Children moving out, family getting smaller, we didn't need that "big, practical" car. Still have a dog though, so a stationwagon would be good. Well, the dark-blue 159 sportswagon (JTDm Automatic 2007) had the looks, and still seemed "practical enough" to suit us. So while the dealer went home to fetch the 147, we had a go with the 159 sw. And after that, a run with the dealer's 147. Well, you know the rest, we now own both! And loving it! For the first time, driving a car isn't just getting from A to B, the experience is much more. My wife tells me it's some kind of "middle-age crisis". Got to have something to show off. Ok, maybe... So what? I don't care, I'm just happy!
Regards from Norway,
