Lost KEYS 147 solved

I lost the one and only key to my 02 147. My local dealer Meridian Milano in Portsmouth ordered the new key for me then told me it would be £50 to code the key. Once the key arrived i unlocked the car and had it towed to them . This by now had cost me £200 for the key and coding and a wait of 5 days but i lost the key so was my fault. Ringing the dealer i was told that the body computer needed replacing as the alarm was armed when the key was lost and there was no way of getting into it, they didnt tell me this when i ordered the key. This was followed by the quote for £498 for this computer. I was not happy and phoned alfa UK who said there tech team would get back to me . Four days later they confirmed by phone that a new body computer was required as the alarm was armed when the only key was lost. i now have this in writibg from alfa UK, Whilst waiting for this answer i read some articles on here about stealers trying this on to get more money.

Eventually this led me to calling a dealer called Donalds ALFA in Peterbrough. I spoke to a guy called Jason Hill who told me that there was no way i needed a new body computer and he confirmed this with his alfa master technician. He advised me to get a second key which i brought from him at a 10% discount and got it posted to me within 3 days. He said i should then go back and challenge my local stealer Merdian to try and code the key again in front of me. Jason sent me the procedure by email so i knew what i was looking for. I visted my dealer and surprise surprise with me present their diagnostics had no problem talking to my body computer and boh keys were coded in a matter of minutes.

Please if you want good sound honest advice then contact JASON HILL at DONALDS ALFA in Peterbrough, a very honest guy with sound advice, a main dealer you can trust, and to really upset you local dealer ask Jason to quote you for any parts, 10 outof 10 Jason !!!
