AO Newbie:alfa driving oldie

Hi Everyone I am a newbie to the AO site but currently on my 5th Alfa a 159 1.9 jtdm company car in Oltremare blue(love the colour), others were a red 33 green cloverleaf, a silver 33 gold cloverleaf, a grey 146 ti and a red GTV 3.0l V6 so I am a bit of an alfa nut though no where near as much as some of you, plus also learnt to drive in my Mum's 2 suds
My current car is due to go back in May 2010 and due to work messing about with company car models will be buying my own and the best news is I am in the fortunate position of being able to be a bit frivolous and even more fortunate position of having a wife who says go for it.
So despite having a growing 11 year old and mine being the main family car I am almost certainly going to buy a Brera, more than likely the 2.4 diesel and under a year old, only choice is colour, either red with tan leather or white with red leather being the current favs'.
I know there are some threads about reliability issues but to be honest if I read all the threads don't think I would ever get round to buying a car of any make, so I think I am doing the right thing.
Does anyone have any thoughts or advice?
