Thanks for the compliments, Its a very nice car, and my first Alfa, I only picked it up a few days ago, but the guy was from Essex too, so could probably have been him on the A12.
I was a big VW fan for a long time and loved my Corrado G60, then i switched to Rover Turbos (not the baby 200 but the rare 800 Coupe), and tried to get 280bhp but instead blew holes in the pistons (really shoulda bought the forged jobbies before the turbo upgrade). But always like the look of the Alfas, and in truth was really suprised in the response of the car.
The lights are the lexus style jobbies. and when i first see them i thought the same, but now that i see them on there kinda growing on me. I will probably get some standards to play with, might try a light smoke effect on them, think it will contrast the paint better then the bling bling chrome.
I have been going through the forum and the list of things im going to be attempting is growing and growing LOL!
Heres what i have come up with so far, and advice would be welcomed.
First, suspension! I want a 30mm drop but really want to keep the ride quality and softness, so am looking at the KONI FSD shocks with the eibach springs. At the same time i will probably poly bush everything.
I have seen the OMP Strut brace kits (front upper, lower and rear) that i am thinking about to try to keep the body ridgidity there aswell.
I will be looking at 17" wheels but dont really know what, I am a big fan of the OEM+ look, so will no doubt be Alfa, and probably stick with the teledial style rather then the spokes. Saying that tho, i have seen some whhels (kinda teledials) relica Lamborgini Gallardo that i might try and photo chop on it to see what they look like.
I will be colour coding bump strips and mirrors, and get any stone chips sorted but that will probably be last thing i do.
I am happy with the performance for now, but will invest in a decent induction kit for the nicer noise, but will probably leave the exhaust standard (maybe a nicer back box) as i dont want the car to be too noisy.
The engine bay will be detailed, Thinking red, Silicone hoses, wrinkle paint on coil cover and cam cover, and the plenum. Black fabric spiral wrap to tidy up cabling etc.
And thats about it.
Brakes seem good, but if i happen to cross paths with a 156 GTA with the brembos i would be tempted to take the lot (legs and everything) just because bigger is better.
The interior look like new, so will leave that standard, just upgrade the door speakers and hide a couple of small amps to power the upgraded jobs, rather then use the built in amplifier of the headunit. None of this will be noticable to the eye tho, as i will keep it all hidden in the OEM places.
But all that said, i will not be rushing to do any of this, will be as and when, and hopefully i will wait until people on here decide to pass on there cars and sell some of the toys off nice and cheap LOL!!
I will have to find out about some Alfa meets, Get some inspiration and advice.
