After traveling from London up to south Yorkshire I finally met my Alfa. A red 156 2.0 selespeed veloce, the guy drove her back from the station to where he lived all felt really good from the passenger seat it was tight , the gears seemed to change smoothly and she sounded lovely.
He had spent a small fortune on her over the past 18 months including a cambelt change , altenator ,suspension , front disks , airflow meter , the list goes on . She has 12 months mot with some advisories , rear pads low ,some minor corrosion underneath , nearside rear macpherson strutt has slight movement.
So after paying him some cash I set off back to London. I cannot believe how fresh this car feels , its done 125k and still pulls well . The gearbox feels fine . I took it easy just sitting at 60-70 on the A1 and getting a feel for the box .I pulled into a petrol station filled her up and went to start her and she would not start , it appeared to be stuck in 1st I could not get it into neutral
I quickly phoned the guy " HELP! " I felt a right dick as he told me to put my foot on the brake before taking it out of gear
. Panic over I went on my way , feeling more confident about her I started to play with the box oh the sound of that engine
its lovely.I had a great drive home and enjoyed every minute.
Anyway after sorting out a few things today I will proceed to washing and polishing my new Bella and hopfully get some pics up
