New member checking in
I am new here and thought I'd say hello, and give a (somewhat) brief history and introduction of myself.
I became a first time Alfa owner in 1991 at the age of 19 with the purchase of a 1976 Alfetta sedan, I was hooked. Until then, I had never driven a vehicle that felt as refined and had as much "feedback", you really felt like you were at one with the vehicle. After 4 years of enjoyment, rust took my Alfa away ( I live in the North West). I sold the Sedan to a family member and fellow Alfa collector who removed all the usable parts (Ronal magnesium wheels, Koni race shocks, Bilstein sway bars, Bilstein torsion bars...) and scraped the rusted carcus.
Many years latter, I purchased a 76 Alfa Spider, and after much work (body, paint, wheels, new top, roll bar, carpet, seats) it was complete. A fun little car around, but not as refined and did not have the handling prowess of the Sedan or Alfetta GTs I had known in the past. In all fariness, the Spider didnt get the complete suspension makeover. After two years of enjoyment, I had to part with her, a young son and twins soon followed, so the Spider had to go.
Fast forward 8 years to last week, my family member/fellow Alfa enthusiast calls me with a new project, a VERY streight 76 Alfetta GT, and included in the deal was.....you guessed it, all the nice aftermarket parts from my beloved Sedan (Ronal magnesium wheels, Koni race shocks, Bilstein sway bars, Bilstein torsion bars, etc)
So the journey of life puts me back in the drivers seat of another Alfa, and I couldnt be more excited !!
