Wave Acquiring my first Alfa

I'm about to acquire my first Alfa Romeo from my brother-in-law who, at 80, cannot drive any more. It's a 1999 156 1.8 T. Spark with only 20,000 on the clock (garaged, loved & cherished).
I won't say how much because some may weep in envy!! I'm 65 (with a mental age of 25) and hope that this car will see me through a good few years (I'm also in love with the Alfa 'shape' and marque). It's had a new clutch (why, I don't know ... 20,000miles?).
After all that, my question is (as a pensioner) are Alfa spares/running costs expensive?
er... that's it ... can someone advise please?
Cheers ... Ed

I'm already Jealous, just to find one that looked after with that amount of km's. You'll love it ! ! I'm currently driving a 1750 GTV, and looking to buy a 156. they are a bit expensive but the smile you have when you arrive is well worth it.

As we all know, you only have truly arrived, when you arrive in a Alfa Romeo !
