goodbye A3.....hello GT.....

Hi everyone.....Ive been an Alfa GT 1.9 jtd owner for 10 days now after getting shot of my A3.....the first 10 days havnt been without incident unfortunatley....2 days after buying it the cruise control stopped working but thanks to this ere' site 2 two pence pieces glued together stuck on top of the clutch pedal soon sorted like a charm now..!!.....3 days after that the management light lit up and it said motor control system failure ( or something like that! ) on the computer and the car lost a bit of its pull in first gear......after searching the forums it seems a bit of a common thing with no direct answer so thought id have a bit of a poke around before parting with any money....found that the lower intercooler pipe had a slight split in the middle of it so went to Alfa in solihull today , picked up a new pipe fitted it and the management light has gone out and the car is driving as good as it looks.....excellent..!..

have to say even with the problems.....Im loving my first Alfa....the GT is just a beauty..!

Welcome fella.

Re cruise, don't you just pull out the micro switch thingy so it touches the pedal. That's what I did when mine got knocked.

yeah i think my switch was a bit buggered to be honest, i pulled it out but it just went back up so it didnt touch the pedal.....thought 4 pence and a bit of glue was cheaper than a new switch..!!....i know its a bit of a codge but it works fine...
