I am coming back to alfa
My name is Roger and I am thinking of coming back to Alfa land.
I had a 98 156TS 1.8 as a company car which was great to drive and with the company paying the service bills was terrific to have.
Now I have reached the age where I am corporately unemployable I started my own small business which I still have.
One day I called in at British Car Auctions, Bridgwater and let my heart rule my head. I bid on and bought a 156 TS 1.8. which looked OK. I soon found out it was anything but. I then found a local Fiat/Alfa service dealer (Louis LB Autos of Somerton) who came to the rescue. With his help and a pile of money the car was sorted and I did 30k of enjoyable miles before it wanted yet more money spent, so I sold it to Louis and have been Alfa free ever since.
I am being tempted back every time I see a 156 - My little business is doing OK and the Megane 1.5DCi we have now provides reliable very economical motoring, but the seats are not comfy on a very long run and it is DULL. So we are off today to see an 02 2.0JTS with 67K on the clock at a car dealer. He is asking just under £2k but it has, he says limited Service History, so we are assuming a full cam belt service should be done if we buy it.
Any one any tips on what we should be looking out for?
