I am Jan and live in the Netherlands. I've been in love with alfa's since my first testdrive in a (Ferrary-yellow) type 2 1.3 junior. The smell of oil and leather and the eager boxer with the most sporty sound tipped me over instantly. Under that lovely paintwork however was rust eating her up. Than some other 33's came along. 've been f*cked with a 16v having very thick oil, meaning 3 days after servicing sound like a tin can with loose nuts and bolds and mot failure. One piston hitting the head, so driving 50 in 5th gear was like having someone pounding the car with a sledgehammer.
Anyway, a suberb 16vQV followed. Several donors came along. Interessting was a 1.7EI with ABS and rear discs. The 33 ownerships ended with a 16v on LPG.
I got a 3L V6 GTV from Germany and had a LPi LPG set installed. I drove 50.000km a year, mostly work. Lovely car but quite some problems. After 18 month's cost mounted to 18.000euro's. Distribution failed 2 days before planned renewal
.Da GTV was ditched and a Nissan took over the job of transporting me.
I have started my own company recently. A very fair 33 (type 1) came along and fitted my budget. Just below 17.000KM she is still fresh! I took the gamble(still being realistic) and bought it as my company car. After years in a collection it's time to put her to work. This 33 is unique in my country and a good marketing tool as well.
My nick is based on the color of this 33, it's brown
. True eighties brown. Live is like a box of chocolates after all
Ok, enough talk, time for another drive!
