Help New 156 Owner seeks advice

Chaps, Ladies,

I am delighted to be a very new proud owner of a beautiful 2004 156 1.9JTD 16V Multijet in Alfa RED - just remapped to 180BHP. The car is in fine condition having covered only 42K one owner who had in garaged.
This is my first Alfa but I'm sure won't be my last!

Anyway one thing I've noticed is how poor the standard brakes are. Whilst the discs look fine and there is plenty of meat on the pads, the car does not stop as well as my old Vectra C estate (I know YUK!).
So, I really need your help to point me in the right direction to resolve.
I have read plenty about EBC Discs and Pads, particulary Green Stuff pads which seem to be a good option. Do I need standard EBC discs or should I go for the Grooved Turbo type (Ebay have them at 107 the paid)?
Also is it worth fitting GT Goodridge braided brake hoses?
Should I worry about the rear brakes?

Your thoughts are most welcome to assist a new Alfa novice.
