Electrical fault

Hi, I own an Alfa 147 TI which is just out of warranty. I seem to have developed an irritating intermittant fault which indicates that my reversing light is not working. I have changed three bulbs in quick succession to no avail. It seems to be a cable fault rather than a bulb problem as it comes and goes when I drive over uneven surfaces. Has anyone any ideas what to look out for as I don't fancy putting it in for an auto-electrical check for something which might be simple to fix? I'd appreciate any help.
