Hi everyone are Alfa's worth it?

I've owned my GT JTDm since new in 2006 and loved everything about it. Found this forum as I am getting tired of the faults and constant difficulty of getting the car fixed under warranty.
To date I have had to have the following work carried out:

1. Twice the driver's seat has failed to pull forward for rear passengers to get in.

2. Rear heated windscreen did not work properly after Alfa stated the initial 6 month period for windscreen defects had passed. Argument took place and they fixed it.

3. Turbo went and boy was the car slow without it. Replaced.

4. Currently in the garage now as there was a knocking and squeaking noise coming from suspension. Again debate took place and they are now replacing the wishbone suspension on the front under warranty.

5. Indicators had to be replaced as they went clear

6. Boot light wouldn't work

6. To top it off the glove box handle has also snapped off

Now having read this forum I've got concerns over the water pump going. Has anyone else had the extent of problems I have had?

Re: Hi everyone are Alfa's worth it?

Hello and welcome.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. It does sound like you got a bit of a lemon, which should not happen in this day and age. However, don't think that it would not have happened if you bought a VW/Audi or whatever. I don't think you will get too many varieties of answers to "are Alfa's worth it" - we would not be on here if we didn't think so!

Hope that you get all the niggles ironed out, hopefully once these jobs are all done (under warrenty) you will have a supub, care free motoring car you can rely on and get many years of service from.

Hello mate, have a look at the West Midlands forum, if you fancy meeting with some other Alfa owners see this...

I thought new Alfa's were supposed to have improved build quality?

As has been said sound's like you've been unlucky but at least you get it sorted under warranty.

Do like the GT though!
