Just a quick hello from a new member following my recent purchase of a '67 Spider Duetto, which I collect at the weekend (just a little bit excited!).
I've wanted one of these for years and now that the kids are growing up my wife and I decided to treat ourselves to something which is a bit more fun which we could enjoy at the weekend.
I've hopefully found a good example which appears to have most original parts etc. Have been pleasantly surprised by the seemingly extensive parts availability for the Duetto.
The only significant cost element (that I know of at present) is the need for a new hood - Alfaholics do one for £440 which I think will be the first purchase. Would be interested to hear from anyone who has purchased (and fitted) one of these - top tips welcomed!
Have owned a 164 3.0V6 and a 166 3.0V6 previously, both of which were great cars (I took the 164 to 195,000 miles on the original engine before sadly selling on). I still don't think I've heard anything as good as that V6 at full belt.
I still have the 166 which is running but it is not MOT'd.
