I came to find out about this forum while looking up some parts for my '04 156 Mk II on the web. So far I haven't been very lucky, but I hope I might find some usefull info here, this being such an imense community.
To narrow my story a bit: About 3 mounths ago, I had my first car crash in 9 years, and as luck whould have it, it was out of my own fault. I was doing about 20-25 km/h when I fel to see the braking car in front of me, so I ended up stoping in this guy towing unit. His car was unscratched, but I was left with a broken left headlamp, a small hole in the front bumper, a busted engine hood and that little bit of red plastic thing that releases the hood (the one in the engine compartment). This being my first Alfa, and my first car for that matter, I was quite socked to find out the size of the holes these parts can burn through ones pocket. More precisely, an out of town dealer has asked me for a chip under 1200 euros for that one broken headlamp alone. And the hood wasn't a bargain either. So ever since I am asking left and right for someone to point me the way to some parts at a more humain prices. Mind you, it's even more frustrating that the bulbs in the busted headlamp were untuched, it's only the plastic cover and a bit of the internal mirror that was broke. Another funny fact is that the normal headlamps whould only cost about 140 euros a pop, but since mine came with xenon bulbs from the factory, they seem to recon it's worth about 10 time that amount.
So if anyone out there could tip me of in anyway as to where I could find parts for my love, I'd be a very happy coure sportivo owner.
Cheers all @
