Hi, I am a fresh,new memeber.
About me, well, I love Alfas and always will.
Once turned 18, I got my first Alfa, it was a 4th hand, 1979 Sprint. After some small accidents, I dismantled it completely and restrored back to it's original glory. After around 4 years, I fell in love with the 33 model and parted the Sprint for a 1994 second hand 33 1.3 VL. I had this car for around 11 years now and it's still in very good condition.
Here in Malta, registration tax is very high, the highest in Europe. When registering your car, you have to pay an extra 100% of the value as registration tax. Then you must also add VAT to that.
This is why we keep our cars for a long time and do not change them often. Now, once we have joined the EU, things are changing and registration tax has been reveised to a more reasonable %. Also, Vat has been completely removed.
Now, since we also drive right hand drive cars, many Maltese are importing quality used cars from UK. This has lowered the local car value here and so I have just bought a 1998 GTV 2.0L.
That's all for now and sorry for the long introduction
