Ah, hello posts. I always suck at these. Aaanyway.
Hi, everyone. I live in North Yorkshire, and I currently don't actually own an Alfa, but have my heart and mind set on a 147 1.9 diesel, as I need to change to a diesel as I'm doing lots of miles, but am far too young to just settle for something "sensible". I test drove my first 147 the other day, and unless something better turns up in the mean time, could well be buying it on Saturday... hence me joining up with this forum, as I'm going to head off to the technical area in a minute to ask such questions as "What are the most common faults to look out for?", "Any advice for someone wanting to buy a 147?" and "Ermm, should the clutch pedal feel as weird as it did to me, or is it, in fact, just me?!"
I hope to spend some time on these forums, but (fingers crossed) I'll never have to entitle a post "Oh my gods it's all gone wrong my car blew up!" or anything of that ilk. I seem to totally, utterly *suck* at buying cars, save for my 1989 MX-5 they've *all* been total useless lemons, and I don't have a single friend with car knowledge (I'm the best I have, and I'm really a computer geek who loves driving, as opposed to a car geek who uses computers). However. I've spent too long staring at Alfas over the last few years, and I have a good feeling about this car, this one will be right! And it's *not* going to cost me a fortune to repair five minutes after I buy it.
Because, I can assure you, if it does, I won't be seen on this forum again - as my girlfriend will most certainly kill me.
Nice to meet you all, I'll say in advance
