I am Claude, from the neighbour of Charleroi in Belgium. 59 years old and not yet tired with cars.
Since last Chistmas, we are happy owners of a 146 1.4 boxer.
This car is a cheap and quick buy following an accident with our 93 Mini Cooper SPI witch will wait until next spring for repairs.
We have 2 other cars but not really adapted for an everyday use: a 77 Mini Clubman Estate and a 78 MG Midget.
The 146 is my third Alfa; the first one was an Alfasud 1300ti resaled after two weeks due to a blowed piston.
and the second a Coupe Alfetta GT 1600 kept until the next MOT. I had never seen rust eat steel so quick that on this car.
Now, back to the 146. After 800 miles, we are globally satisfied but a little desappointed with the performance and MPG relativelly to the Cooper SPI. One very bad point is the heating, with the (very) low temperatures that we have since two weeks, it takes 3 or 4 miles before feeling a little warm coming in the car. I already replace the thermostat but fort short travels, it is a pitty.
