I joined because i thought the best place to hear about Alfa was from owners.
I am going through the process of changing the car - I am ashamed to admit this largely on the instructions of my wife!
I have an Audi 2.5tdi Allroad. I know what you Alfa owners will think and say about teutonic whatever, but I think it a fantastic car. It was bought because it is 7 seats and not an MPV.
The car goes to Italy three times a year and does Dunkerque to Modena in 12 hours (overnight) at 32mpg. That is sitting on the Autoroute / bahn / strada at a steady 80. Loaded to the gunnels.
But locally. A barely affordable 22mpg. And £700 for an alternator, £550 for a brake piston (please bear in mind there are 4 on the front wheels), it is just unaffordable.
And it large, a right s*d to park.
So it is going.
Now I have always loved cars, especially Alfas. Before the family I owned Alfetta GTV6, which was wonderful until it blew up.
As reliability problems seem to have been largely resolved is now the time to buy one again? Perhaps a 159 1.9 ti?
