I'm a new member on here and was looking for some advice from people who know allot more about cars than me...although, that's about everyone in the Country!
I've always admired Alfa's from afar but now I've made up my mind to go for it and have seen one I really like and it's in my budget. It's the Alfa GT V6 and it's for sale in a garage called Veloces in North London. I wondered if anyone had any experience with them. Good/bad/average? I took it for a test drive at the weekend and fell in love with it as soon as I heard the engine...hence, I'd like some advice from people who actually know what they're talking about! When I go back for a second look, what should I be looking out for and asking the sales rep? It's an 05 plate and has done 38,000 miles. A friend of mine said that those cars usually need an new cam belt at 40,000 miles. Is this true and if so, how much will that cost? I've budgeted for around £250 a month for small loan, insurance and petrol so if thigs were to start going wrong, I'd be struggling a bit so is there anything I need to know Re this car..ie, any persistent problems, things I need to look out for etc?
Lastly...Any tips on how to get the price down? It's up for £12,750 which sounded cheap to me and it's looks (To the untrained eye) like it's in mint condition. the dealer said there have been no problems with it to date and there is a full service history.
Any help/advice Re my many asks will be received with thanks and hopefully I'll be able to update you all with how it drives really soon.
