I took delivery of a Blue GT Cloverleaf Q2 last week. It's the first Alfa I have owned and I have to say that it is the BEST car I have ever driven. Many years ago I bought a Sunbeam TI which I have always used as my 'fun car' yardstick and no car since has matched the sheer gutsy pleasure of driving it - until now!
Like the TI (for its day, long before golf GTI's and the like), the GT looks a million dollars, goes like a rocket and there are very few of them around, so it gives you a feeling of driving something really special (people really do come over to you at filling stations and admire it - one was the owner of a 'German' car who wanted to know where I got it from!). I just can't understand how there aren't more of them on the road - glad though!
Got the usual jibes at first from friends about bits falling off or spending a lot of time on public transport but all have changed their tune when they saw it and 'that smile' when first driven.
I reckon that I am now 'hooked on Alfas' and am considering keeping a lemon in the glove compartment to stop me from grinning like an idiot every time I get in.
