Hi Folks,
Just joined and after a quick read I think I'm sorted.
Have owned 2 !56 a 1.8 and 2.0, the 1.8 timing belt clutch lines and crank shaft all buggered up on me costing a small fortune as I bought a second hand engine before the cranks shaft went.
Anyhoo drove a Sabb 9-5 Turbo that broke my heart to then traded after a period of penance drving a Scenic and about 10k lost between the Alfa and Saab I decided I needed a an Alfa again.
Swapped the Scenic for a beautiful Alfa 2.0 all leather then last week drove through a flood and guess what it's shagged.
So now I'm looking at 1.6 sportivo but it has a few issues and these issues were warning lights ABS and VDC.
The car has been sitting unused for about 3 months so battery was low and these lights weren't on before she was parked up.
So having read some of the issues here with battery problems causing warning lights to come I would say that is my problem.
Thanks for the help through sharing will be back for a visit from time to time.

Cheers Guys thanks for the welcome.
Just picked up my third 156 yesterday, she's a 2002 1.6 Sportivo metallic Blue 60k on the clock.
Nice car but a bit underpowered for my liking.
