I've just bought a 159 V6 Q4, having sold my Porsche 911 in the hunt for practicality.
I tried out the BMW and Audi options which, whilst technically better and certainly faster, were a trifle charmless for my tastes. Having owned a 147 before with no trouble, I thought I'd go back to Alfa.
The black 159 is a gorgeous car and whilst not particularly fast it's enough to devour most roads at a reasonable rate, the handling is not soft but the front end is a bit wishy wash on the limit. I thought that these things would annoy me after my 911, which is IMO the perfect road car. But these trifles don't really phase me. Such is the pleasure of owning the car, it's beauty, attention to detail, the noise of the engine, that I simply consider them to be minor character flaws, which of course we all have!
The car has heart and soul, something that BMW and Audi engineered out of their machines years ago.
Interestingly the 159 V6 is far less economic than my 911 but now I'll be putting 95 octane in there the chequebook will still balance
Anyway, I just wanted to introduce myself and describe my purchase.
All the best
