Just a quick intro.
I currently dont have an alfa but have owned two in the past.
The first one was a 1995 N reg. 145 1.6 boxer in alfa red, which was about 14 months old when we bought it, and if I remember correctly we covered about 15000 miles in it, thoroughly enjoyed owning it and had no faults to report on it whatsoever.
The 145 was then part exchanged against a 12 month old 1997 P reg155 2.0, with 9000 miles on the clock, again in alfa red
We kept this car for about five years and added a further 65,000 miles to it. Other than general servicing costs the only fault to report on this car was a dodgy indicator stalk at 60000 miles which needed replacing.
both these cars were our only means of transport as we didn't own a second car at the time and the only reason the 155 was sadly sold on was because the cost of tyres and insurance was beginning to get rather expensive.
Our two children although only young at the time loved both these cars, and even now point out alfas each time we pass one, and pester for another
So I have decided that I would like to get another one, more as a 'plaything' than an everyday family car, that can be pampered and used only when the weather is kind.
My thinking is that because the mileage is probably not going to exceed 5000 per year, and if i get a model of 10 years or older it should then qualify for cheaper insurance / classic car policy?
So I am on the look out for either:-
An early original 2.0 GTV
A 145 boxer engined model
Must be in alfa red
I'm in no rush to buy but will know when I see the right car
