Returning to the fold
Evening all, new member here.
My profile says I am the owner of a 159ti 2.4Jtdm, this is not quite true, not until saturday at least!
I bought a 147 brand spanking from Alfa in 2002, beutiful car but the rumours about reliability and customer service proved to be completely true. I reluctantly traded it in for a Saab 93 4 years later, the final straw being the dealer telling me that he couldnt get the car through an MOT (booked 4 weeks in advance of when it was needed 'cause I knew what they were like) because he couldnt get a replacement pipe in time!
Anyway, having snoozed around in a booring old Saab for a couple of years I have felt the pull of Alfa once more. Heart ruled head and I have parted with a large sum of money to become the proud owner of the afore mentioned 159ti.
Now, my mates all looked at me in that 'are you mad?' sort of way when I told them what I had done. Remember the three month ordeal without your car when they had to replace the wiring loom? they chuckled. I brushed off their jibes with stories of how alfa have picked themselves up and are a new, modern, caring and competent company
Imagine their mirth then, when I explained to them this week that I wasn't driving around in the coolest looking car this side of an Aston, because the dealer couldn't manage to fit a new clutch in the ti in a week and had to put the delivery date back a week.
Tell me then fellow alfa fans, have I made a terrible (and expensive) mistake? Or are the roumours tha Alfa have turned it around true?
