Taking The Plunge....GT Q2

Hi Guys

First post on the forum after lurking in the background for a while, some great stuff on here, really useful keep up the good work. Anyhow I've never owned an Alfa, never even driven one until recently but fell under the spell in the 80's with the Sprint and the Sud but could never afford to own one. Now just ordered a GT Cloverleaf Q2 in Atlantico Blue which should be here in a few weeks, can't believe I've actually gone and done it! The hard part is now how I'm going to explain to the wife in the middle of this financial crisis why I have gone and blown 22K on a 'non appreciating asset' as the dealer so delicately described it (I think he wanted me to take the HP finance option). We've got three kids so possibly to pay for the car we may have to sell one of them or even get rid of the wife not sure which will be more cost effective

Joking aside I can't wait to collect the car, owned a SAAB 93 Sport TiD a couple of years ago but it just didn't do it in looks or drive. The car is due middle of August so it will be an 08 reg, one question is should I wait for September for the 58 plate or will a matter of 3 weeks really make a big difference?

Hello GTQV.

3 months ago I bought a GT Blackline 1.9JTD and all I can say is that to me, the number on the plastic board has'nt even had a second look. You'll love driving this thing, you'll love looking at this thing, you'll love washing this thing, so why pain yourself any longer than you have to? I say don't wait coz the scary price will disappear from your mind once your hands are on the wheel. Enjoy my friend.

If it had a bed in the back, i would sell my house. The NHS should send people with chronic back problems to Alfa, bucket leather seats to snuggly fit in for 180bhp. 'non appreciating asset' means 1/2 ur 22k in 3 years but u might have attracted 3 new wives by then in such a car. ps dont show this thread to ur wife.
