Here I am. Terrified. I just tracked down a new Spider LE after lots of phone calls arounddealerships in the whole UK, in black, and will collect it next Saturday 13 July (naturally it will rain - I'm prepared to bet on it!).
I'm Italian (live in London) and never owned an Alfa (can you imagine?). After years of BMW's, AUDI's, Golfs and even old 911's, I decided it was time for something perhaps less perfect but miles more beautiful and characterful.
Having just read a long thread on the merits of auto wipers and auto lights sensors (seriously, guys, isn't it about the pleasure of cruising???), and the long list of defects you seem to have encountered, I have the gitters and almost think of losing the £500 deposit and change my mind!
Will you please put me right? Are Alfas really still so far from being teutonics marvels of engineering? A Spider to me is still an expensive investment, will I be able to enjoy it in between pit stops to rectify faults???
I'm excited and at the same nervous...
Hope to hear from you, and who knows even make some petrol head friends here...
Regards to you all,
