New Alfa owner

Hi forum,

Having been let off the leash from the wife who has just purchased 'a family car' a renault mongoose or something. I traded in the mazda 6 in search of a coupe.
After a few test dives of mx-5's, merc's & hyundai's nothing appealed, then I seen an Alfa GT JTD, I was blown away by it's look's, red leather interior and some sweet lines on the outside, having never consider an Alfa before I now believe everybody has to own one at some point in the life , by law.
I am now being totally un-green and 'nippin out' to the shops 100 yards down the road at any opportunity. Im am more than satisfied with its turn of speed so I wont go down the 'newbie' remap v's tuning box senario. It gets look's from people thats what I like!
My only gripe, which does not outweigh the overall package of the car, is the brakes, they do not fill me with confidence, Iv already missed a couple of junctions, abiet I was showin off 2 friends at the time, do we have a cheapy quick fix here, eg better pads, slow down comments will be ignored!

Also there is an Alfa meet in Annan this weekend, has any1 been before, is it worth going to?
Cheers for now
