Newbie, Anyone know V6 AOC, previously X691 FVV?
Hi all, great site. It's been very helpful in the run up to buying my car.
After a string of cars getting steadily more expensive, including Limited Edition Fiat Coupe Turbos, E36 BMW M3, Evo 7, and a 350z, i've turned to motorbiking for my adrenaline fix.
However i also wanted a car that could stir the emotions, look great on your drive, and that was good value for money.
Well i've got it. I picked up my 166 2.5 V6 on Saturday and enjoyed every mile of the 250 or so to get it home. What a car! It has the optional 17" alloys, and looks to me and kind of feels like it may be sitting a little lower than standard. The car is immaculate and has obviously been cared for, it's had the front end resprayed as there are very few stone chips for a car that has done 115k! The interior is unmarked, there isn't a squeak or rattle any where in the cabin, and what a lovely cabin it is too.
The engine is smooth and performs well, and the suspension and chassis feel very tight!
Ok so i've not had the quietest of cars in the past, but i'm amazed at how quiet the 166 is at ***mph on the motorway!
Also what a superb stereo!
She has an Alfa dealer service history up to 84k, and i have nothing after that. However as the car was in such good condition i felt the previous owner probably wouldn't have neglected it on the servicing side of things. Problem is i know Italian cars, i've had several Fiat Coupe turbos, and a 156 v6, and i can't quite put it out of my mind that maybe the cambelt hasn't been done, or it has been done, and could be due again soon.
The guy i bought from on ebay came across as very honest, he'd bought the car from trade, and his feedback is 100%.
I am very very happy with the car, and it's condition is fantastic, i paid £1500 for it, and i'd still be happy if i'd paid double or more for it. It certainly looks like it's worth a lot more!
Does anybody know this car or it's history, it is back on the original reg no X691 FVV, but was private plated V6 AOC, which i can't help but think stands for Alfa Owners Club. Someone on here must know it?
I'm presuming MotorVogue would not have serviced this car at 72k and 84k and not changed the belts, but i'm looking for piece of mind.
Also i'd like to thank the previous owner for looking after it so well!
Any help appreciated
