Hi all,
I would just like to say think you to everyone, you've helped me no end in this forum and I've not even posted a question! The Alfa 156 is such a nice car to drive, but not without its problems! I bought her for £1400 and is in relatively good shape body wise. Nero Black, Veloce model with a great big spoiler on the back!
I've had a few probs with my 2001 Selespeed, thou none with the actual gearbox, which i think is impressive! The brakes failed the other week due to the flex hose bursting with an impressive bang, in a carpark luckily! Got some nice need goodridge lines on, and they feel great again!
I am now just in the process of doing the cambelts, tensioners and variator. These haven't been done since 02/03 at 61000 miles! and its on 112000 now! Just about managed to get TDC sorted and the aux belt off and its started to rain. However, I've had a quick peek at the cambelt and balancer belt.
To my amazment and luck, the balance belt has actually snapped, and decided not to take the cambelt with it! I have no idea when this has happened! Clearly shows it was due a change thou! So lucky! Having a mare trying to remove bolts etc, damn rust, this is going to take me some time lol
Thanks again all,
Adam
