Wave sill-old-git

Hello Hello Hello, not yet an owner of an alfa, but soon hope to be as I am looking to get my grubby little mits on a 156. The idea be that I will use it as a family car but at week ends use it for sprinting events TWEEK TWEEK if you know what I mean. The thing is I have been told that the 156 suffers from electrical problems, that can be a pain to get sorted. I would love to hear from anyone who uses the lovely looking 156 for sprinting or simular also if the electrical problems are a real problem or not.
Thanks for reading hope someone can help:

Re: sill-old-git

Don't think the 156 suffers more from electrical problems than any other car.. Its mostly Bosch components anyway, so same as what you get in a Vauxhall, Ford, Beemer, etc etc..

There are the usual sensors that can fail like crankshaft sensor (£20) and air flow meter (MAF - £80 or so), but other than that the 156 is generally pretty good. Mine's a right beast and gets driven as it was intended, for a ten year old car with over 100K on the clock I can't fault it at all, its never let me down (touch wood)..

Back on the road: Alfa 156 3.0 24v V6, Silver with red leather, Q2 diff, 17" GTA Teledials, headlights & inlet manifold, AutoDelta carbon intake,
SuperSprint exhaust, Dastek Unichip & FK coilovers - my 245bhp beast!

Gone but not forgotten: Alfa 156 2.4 JTD Veloce, Vela Blu, Angel 'mad map' & BMC CDA, Ferodo DS2500s - the fastest tractor in town!
