Media Player in 159 (advice please)

I'm new to all this - first post and all that.

Just getting rid of my '54 JTD Ti Sportwagon and whilst waiting to collect my new 159, I have a courtesy 'version'. The Media Player seems to have destroyed my ipod but it was an old one so... wondered if someone can advise

It seems to be suggested that you can stick a flash drive full of music into the USB port and essentially get the same outcome as plugging in your ipod.

Is this correct. I've tried to put a few tunes on a couple of memory stick/flash drives and every time I access the media player, the polite lady tells me "no media found"

Can it be done? do I need a particular type of drive or do I need a new ipod!!!??

I belive that is correct - just any flash drive upto 4meg should be ok from my memory.

Brilliant - thanks for that - all works a treat. For those that may be interested, I actually plugged a 16 gig flash drive in with 3500 tracks on it - works great, just takes 15 minutes or so to load up the library.
