Help Alfa 166 - big problems

Hi - found this site through Google when desperately looking for help sourcing a reconditioned enginefor Alfa 166. Everything was going fine - 5 years old, 70,000 on the clock, 4 new tires, etc., etc., and then driving to London on bank holiday Monday it all went pear-shaped. To cut a long story short - the engine is finished and I need to find a reconditioned engine at a competetive price to make it worth repairing the car.

Hi Ned

Its a 2 litre, twin spark. Have found a used engine on EBay that has done 41K and they want £575 for it. Seems a good deal - what are the drawbacks??

try fee-bay , when i wanted parts i found it a lot cheaper to just buy a second hand cheapy one and just disect it at least this way you got an extra bit of everything
