Howdy folks, after everyone telling me not to buy an alfa cos they breakdown, I bought a nice 2001 147 2.0 cos the people who say don't buy one, don't know anyone who has owned one so can they be that bad??? Bought it with faulty horn, heated seat switch, blown side light and airbag light on...seems like a used car to me, Ive sorted it all apart from airbag light and Ive replaced the belts, so is it just a matter of time before Im crying at the side of the motorway???

Don't believe what people tell you regarding reliability. You should be able to get a dealer to reset the airbag light for you. Hello & welcome btw

Hi Paulo,I used to have the same problem with the airbag light,on my 147.Very simple solution,under the driver-side seat(LHD) their is a cable with a connector.Sometimes the connector does not make proper contact.

the reliabity of alfas are much better than years ago. keep an eye on your oil levels and you will enjoy the car . all alfas like attention like a woman. keep your hand on the pulse and she riase eyebrows. Once youve got the alfa bug you wont leave. enjoy
