Brera shopping

I've joined this site to get up to speed with all things Alfa, particularly the Brera. I'm a GP living in the North East of England and I'm planning on upgrading my Golf GT TDI 150. The first time I saw a Brera parked up I had to walk around it twice. It's stunning, refined, yet acceptable for my home visits. A Boxter/Z4/Merc just wouldn't be right.

If the diesel doesn't sound too much like my present car (which has amazing acceleration 30-70 but blows a lot of smoke at 73k) then I'll probably go for that over the V6 but I'll take a few for a drive.

Welcome to AO

Plenty of info on the Brera here obviously and the 2.4 JTDm is a great engine

Re: Brera shopping

My fiance is an SHO in GP training and is getting a Black Spider next month, so I would agree the Brera is not too OTT for a GP on home visits.

It's a great car, great engines, just be prepared to take a bit of a hit on fuel economy. We believe it's the DPF on the 2.4 diesel that knocks the consumption figures.

Re: Brera shopping

Welcome. Good to see there are a few medics on AO. I've just finished finals here in Leeds...Leaving me free to spend a bit more quality time with the alfa. Unfortunately most of it's been under the bonet so far.

Enjoy your test driving.
